First Week

Well we have been in AL for a week and man let me tell you it is HOT as you know what. I am breaking a sweat when I just think about going outside. AC is one of God's greatest inventions. Anyway we are getting settled in and trying to sort out where we go from here and what we are going to do when we grow up. For the time being I am working for my brother helping him finish a few construction projects. I am looking into several seminaries trying to discern what is the best fit for our family.

I have had many people as me if I miss Washington and my response has been that I miss the climate, but most of all I miss the people, particularly the students. You guys really are a part of who we are as a family and I want you all to keep in touch as we grow over the next months and years. I will try to post our happenigs and what we are learning so you will be informed.

I am learning that I must immerse myself in God's work if I am to have anything of value to share with people. Please pray that I will be diligent in reading and studying God's word,

I'm thinkin David envies us here in washington. We who have the nice cool 80's and 90's. I'm sure our temps are baby stuff compared to what it is in Alabama. And don't forget about the high humidity levels there. Although he's probably too nice to say it out loud, I'm sure he's thinkin you should quit your whining. lol

i mean, it's the kind of heat that your kids can't actually play outside in from 12-4pm or they could die within minutes, you know? what the heck was the Lord thinking, anyway? i guess i'd better go....feeling a little punchy. is this enough commenting on your blog now?

Ya, I lived in Alabama (Ft. Mclellan to be exact) for about 4 months (July - October). We did not have any air conditioning. In fact, those dummies they called Drill Sergeants kept saying we should go for a run up and down the mountainous hills. What were they thinking!!! It was too stinking hot to go outside at all, let alone running up and down vertical inclines while some insane character was yelling in your ear. They must have been out in the sun too long.
