I just work here

I was reading this morning in John chapter 5 and noticed that Jesus said he can ONLY do what the Father gives Him to do. Jesus placed limitations on himself, but is that really limiting at all? Imagine if you could ONLY do what the Father gave you do. All of your energy was devoted to accomplishing your God given mission in life and there was no time wasted on things that mattered only to you. You would be freed from the perceptions of others and you would no longer be limited by your own fears. You would know that what the Father gave you was a worth while task and worthy of you time and attention. Imagine feeling as if you life matters becasue you are pursuing what you were meant to be and do as the Father let you in on what to do next.

I guess the saddest thing is that this life is available to those who are willing to be "limited" by doing only what the Father gives them to do.

Mobile: the wave of the future

I just bought a sweet shirt at Randomshirts.com that has an old school motorhome and says the title tag line. As many of you know Farah and I have sold our home and are moving into a motor home in order to loosen the grip the world has on our time. In stead of debt service to a mortgage and a bank we want to service the debt to Jesus from saving us from ourselves. We are excited about this next step in our faith journey as we immerse ourselves into an unknown that allows room for God to show himself, but we are also a little wary that we do not force God's will into our plans. We want to be his servants and nothing more. We are descending so that he might rise to the top our our priorities. The last time we followed some crazy plan like this we moved across the counntry to no job and no friends, just a dream to be used. We find ourselves in the same place now wanting to be used mightly of God for things He wants to accomplish. Onward......
